Schylling NeeDoh Nice Cube Glow - Squeeze Toy with a Super Solid Squish - Glows in The Dark - 2.25" Cube - Color May Vary (Pack of 1)

4.5 · 1,138 reviews

A 2.25 inch NeeDoh cube filled with the same kind of doh-like compound as the round NeeDoh balls, but built for the Nice Cube line's noticeably firmer, more solid Super Solid Squish, plus a glow-in-the-dark finish that kicks in after a few minutes under a light. It holds its square shape at rest and slowly reforms after every squeeze, stretch, or squash. Ships in one random color (purple, blue, pink, green, or orange), is non-toxic and free of BPA and latex, and is rated for ages 3 and up due to a small parts warning.

About Schylling NeeDoh Nice Cube Glow - Squeeze Toy with a Super Solid Squish - Glows in The Dark - 2.25" Cube - Color May Vary (Pack of 1)

Schylling's Nice Cube line sits alongside its round NeeDoh balls as a firmer, more solid-feeling alternative, and the Glow version keeps that same square shape and squish while adding a genuine glow-in-the-dark effect after a few minutes of light exposure.

What makes this specific cube a fit is exactly that firmness. Reviewers who own both a round NeeDoh and a regular Nice Cube describe this Glow cube as much tougher to squish, really solid, calling it their favorite specifically for how solid and slow-rising it is compared to the softer round balls in the line, and note the surface feels smoother and less sticky too. That's the opposite end of the squish spectrum from the round Groovy Glob ball: pick this one for a firmer, more resistant squeeze in a square shape, and pick the round ball for a softer, more giving one.

The honest caveat, straight from reviews, is that quality control varies by unit. Some buyers received cubes with a bottom seal that wasn't fully sealed and popped out under pressure, or with visible dirt and smudges on arrival. A smaller number found their cube softer than expected, developing air bubbles that kept it from fully reforming, or with a glow effect fainter than they'd hoped for.

The Honest Take

What We Like and What We Don't

What we like

  • Firmer, more resistant squish than the standard round NeeDoh ball line; more than one reviewer specifically calls it solid and better suited for higher-stress squeezing
  • The glow-in-the-dark effect works as advertised for most buyers once it's been charged under a light
  • Smoother, less sticky surface than some other Nice Cube versions, per a side-by-side reviewer comparison
  • A strong surprise-gift item; multiple reviews describe it being a genuine hit with kids
  • Authentic Schylling manufacturing quality noted by reviewers who compared it favorably against knockoff NeeDoh-style cubes

What holds it back

  • Quality control is inconsistent: some units arrive with a seal that pops loose under squeezing, or with visible dirt and smudges
  • A minority of reviewers found their cube softer and less durable than expected, developing air bubbles or a slow leak that stops it from fully reforming to its square shape
  • The glow effect can be fainter on some units than buyers expect, especially compared to how strongly it's marketed

Is This For You?

Who Should (and Shouldn't) Buy This

Get it if…

you or your kid prefer a firmer, more solid squeeze over NeeDoh's softer round-ball feel, you want a fidget cube that also glows after dark for nighttime use, or you're shopping for a gift and want something with a strong track record of being a genuine surprise hit with kids.

Skip it if…

you specifically want the softer, more giving squish of the classic round NeeDoh ball instead of a firmer cube, you need a guaranteed-strong glow effect since some units glow fainter than expected, you can't tolerate any chance of a seal defect or a soft or leaky unit since quality control varies, or the child is under 3 given the small parts choking warning.

The verdict

This is the pick for anyone who wants NeeDoh's fidget concept with a firmer, more resistant squeeze rather than a soft ball, and the glow feature genuinely works for most buyers once it's been charged under a light. The tradeoff is unit-to-unit consistency: when it arrives right, reviewers call it their favorite in a whole NeeDoh collection, but a noticeable slice of buyers get one with a seal issue, a soft spot, or a weaker glow than expected.

What Real Buyers Say

5.0

10 out of 10. Super satisfying to squish and play with. Also cool that it glows in the dark. I got a nice green one.

United States

5.0

I have a couple of gum drops and a regular Nice Cube NeeDoh, but this has got to be my favorite for how solid and slow rising it is. It's much tougher to squish than a regular Nice Cube, really solid, perfect for high stress, and always returns to its original shape. The surface is also smoother and less sticky than the regular Nice Cube, making it easy to clean.

United States

3.0

Softer than the original cube. It is not durable at all, it ended up leaking. It is still usable, but it does not go back to its original shape because of the air bubbles. It faintly glows in the dark, but not as much as you would expect.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the Nice Cube Glow different from the round NeeDoh ball?

The Nice Cube is a square shape built around a firmer, more solid squish, sometimes described as a Super Solid Squish. The round NeeDoh ball line has a softer, more giving squish instead. They glow the same way, under a light, but the feel in your hand is genuinely different, firmer resistance in the cube versus a softer give in the ball.

Can you choose which color you get?

No. The listing ships one cube per pack in a random color out of purple, blue, pink, green, or orange, so the color that arrives is not guaranteed to match the product photo.

Is the glow effect strong enough to see in a dark room?

For most reviewers, yes, after a few minutes of charging under a light it glows noticeably in the dark. A smaller number of buyers found their unit's glow fainter than expected, so it's worth treating the glow as a nice bonus feature rather than the main reason to buy it.
