Each figure has a movable head, arms, and legs, sized for smaller hands than the 12-inch line. It doesn't mix with the 12-inch figures on a shelf, since the scale is completely different, but for a 3-to-5-year-old just getting into the show, the smaller size and lower price per figure make more sense than starting with a single 12-inch figure.
